Not only two games and finish. Tampa Bay Lightning plans to spent several days in Prague before the games itsef. “First idea was to travel to Prague day before the games,” said Miroslav Cernosek, owner of game promoter Ceska sportovni. But Tampa will probably stay in Prague for 10 days. “They want to have some practises and finish their off season camp before the new league season,” said Cernosek.
Tampa Bay was already interested about off-ice programme - amusements, practice facilities and golf.
One issue to solve is where the team would hold their practises? Lease the whole O2 arena for such a long time is quite expensive. “We are working on it. We are thinking about having one practise open for fans,” said Cernosek.
Both clubs have already booked their hotels, but where will they stay is still secret. They also visited arena and expressed they satisfaction. “They were excited, everything they wanted to arrange was possible.”
Each team will feel in one game (October 4th and 5th) like at home. First game will arena look like home rink for Rangers, the another for Lightning. “That’s the point of the event. You are not flying to Madison Square Garden, you are travelling there by metro,” said Cernosek.
